Import transactions from CSV
Preview rows, fix mistakes, and add many transactions in one go
Created Aug 4, 2026 · Updated Sep 16, 2026

CSV import is for historical data or large batches. TangBoe shows a preview before it saves for real.
What Boe helps with here
- Read many transactions from a CSV file
- Preview rows and split passing vs failing rows before import
- Summarize how many succeeded and failed after the run
Prepare the file
Use TangBoe’s template so column names and formats match. Core fields include date, amount, currency, type, category, wallet, and related details.
Import steps
- Open Transactions, then tap Import
- Pick a CSV file
- Wait for TangBoe to read the file and show a preview
- Check how many rows pass and fail
- Fix failing rows such as date, type, category, or wallet name
- When the preview looks right, tap Import
Only passing rows are sent. TangBoe then summarizes successes and failures.
What to check
- Wallet, category, and type names must match your account
- Transfers need both source and destination wallets
- Investment rows need an asset, buy/sell action, and units
- Check date and currency before confirming — they affect reports
If every row fails, Import stays disabled. Fix the file and pick it again.
